Use the HTML entities ≠ , ≠ , or ≠ to display the "is not equal to" symbol. =/ just looks like a poorly contextualized emoticon. "!=" would also make sense, at least to the software developers in your audience.
I mean &ne ≠ or ≠ . Didn't expect Blogger to actually render those entities for me.
