I came dangerously close to finishing a M.S. in Math. Dropping out right before I finished (actually, I completed my thesis for my own satisfaction) was the best decision I ever made. I would have ended up getting doctoate and teaching College Algebra and Calc at some so-so university or CC for the rest of my life. No thanks. Without the extra degree, I'm not saddled with some ridiculous internal obligation to use it. Now I have a job I love tending bar and managing a little restaurant. Helping the occasional waitress get through a math class from time to time is good enough for me.

Damn, Mike. You're good at drawing!
Munger: You are damn good at voice overs. You have inspired me to get an advanced degree in that very field. Thanks!

So is grad school a "if at first you don't succeed, probably best to give up" kind of deal?
