The Primaries of Tuesday

My good friend Bill LuMaye is on at 6 am now, and I went down to the studio to provide moral support. And they put it on the radio. Always fun to talk to Bill about politics. Here's 40 minutes of it...

It's long, with commercials. But we had a good time. Plagiarism, North Carolina politics, and the economy.

Takeaway

Unemployment benefits expiring? Please.

Wake me up when three things happen:

1. Social security/medicare/entitlement reform. Raise ages, means test, raise maximum payroll before taxes go to zero.

2. Cut DOD and other defense related spending by at least 15%. More is better, but no less.

3. Reform taxes along lines suggested by Bowles-Simpson budget commission proposal.

Everything else is bullshit. And I got to say so on the Takeaway this morn. (7 am is early for a radio show...ugh)

Not sure what to think of this. But it is amusing...

The Cash Boat

When I hear Quantitative Easing 2, of course like many people I think "QE2." (Helicopter Ben will be giving a non-speech this afternoon, from Jackson Hole).

And like many people, QE2 sounds to me like the Queen Elizabeth 2, the Cunard Line cruise ship.

But that makes me think of the "Love Boat." (Only Angus and I would do this; we like to sing, badly and loudly).
So I sang "Cash....Exciting and new..." on the Takeaway radio show this morning.

KPC friend Mark Crain wrote and said he hoped that I had alternative employment lined up, since singing was not going to work out for me. And to warn him next time I was so moved, so that he could avoid that show. Thanks, Mark!
