I am often impressed by Keynes.

I think the political problem of mankind is how to get enough government for entrepreneurship to flourish without ending up with so much government that entrepreneurship flounders.

This piece has always reminded me of Vonnegut's "Welcome to the Monkey House." What are humans for after their role as producer and provider is covered without their effort?
Keynes' answer, if I remember correctly, is fine for the aesthete but may be a bit optimistic. I think the problem is a bit overoptimistic as well.
