Row!
Government joke. Though to be fair, it's really a Congress joke. So I changed it a little, from the source.
Overheard at the Charles River race:
“Did you hear that one of the teams in the Eights is all members of Congress?”
“No. How are they doing?”
“Much better this year. They kept coming in last in previous races, so they sent someone to spy on the Harvard and Yale teams to try to find out the secret of their high performance.”
“Really? A rowing spy? What did the spy tell them?”
“The spy said, 'Look, guys: The Harvard and Yale crew teams just have one guy yelling. The rest of you should row! And in the same direction!'

A State Appetizer?
RI finally has a state appetizer: Calamah (as they say).
What have they done until now. With thanks to the LMM.

Three for all
An interrupted threesome last night led to bruises and broken bones for the participants and a national security risk for the New York Port Authority when the boat the orgy participants were fornicating on crashed into runway 22 of Laguardia Airport.
This story starts out as any other tale of sex gone very, very wrong. Two men meet a woman in a bar. All three are attracted to each other. The three decide to have sex. On a boat. While cruising on the water. Sounds romantic, what could possibly go wrong?
I liked the "hand-held rockets" bit. There were two guys there; hand-held rockets are probably the reason they were so distracted.

New Jersey has a "Jones" for Salt, But Can't Act
The U.S. has a law that protects... no one, actually.
The Jones Act.
It may help some unions a little bit, but not really. The main point seems to be to protect U.S. pride in a shipping industry it doesn't (and shouldn't) have. This fellow...he's not good. This fellow, not surprisingly, is more sensible.
I can't blame DHS, tho. They have to enforce the law as it's written. There is no "common sense" ground for a waiver. So this, I think, is mistaken. For once, the administration is actually enforcing the law.

Alien? No, Sea Pig
This is disturbing. Just a sea pig, out for a walk and a snack.
More about sea pigs.
If you are wondering if I am pleased with this pair of videos, the answer is, "Yes, ridiculously so. The second video, in particular, will be something I will never forget. 'Seeeeea Pig! Seeeeeea Pig!"

60 knots.... in a SAILboat
About 70mph, powered only by wind.
If you think it looks like it's flying...it can actually fly. That's not so good.
