Well Mungo has weighed in. Here's my more succinct take on the subject:
"Out there, the law is coming, I've been so tired of running
Indiana wants me, Lord, I can't go back there"

This week's sign of the Apocalypse
People, the deathtrap that is Applebee's somehow continues to evade the law.
Here the poor victim Hiram Jimenez (not making that up), was unsuccessful in his quest for justice after Applebee's vicious fajita platter burned him WHILE HE WAS PRAYING!
(While he totally has a great legal case, I can't help but wonder if perhaps he was beseeching the wrong deity to end up scorched during prayer)
People, the waitress put the fajitas in front of Hiram without advising him that it was hot! So naturally Hiram assumed it was safe and "bowed his head "close to the table,"" perhaps to complain to the Almighty that his fajitas were not hot.
(I think that maybe the Lord answered his prayer and caused the fajitas to ignite?)
I can't decide if the punch line here should be (A) what a horrible miscarriage of justice that this dude can't make bank on Applebee's, or (B) what kind of a schmuck prays for a miracle, gets it, and then sues?
So here are both:
A: People, if crap like this can happen, why do we even have a legal system at all?
B: People, if crap like this can happen, why do we even have miracles at all?

Dolla Dolla Bill
Dollar stores got beef!
Dollar Tree had an agreement to buy Family Dollar, but nowDollar General is offering $9 billion cash for Dollar Tree.
So I guess we know how many items Dollar Tree has in its inventory, no?
No word yet about what the new conglomerate plans to do about 50 Cent.

There is no Great Stagnation
Wow. Turns out that Eduardo Saverin didn't really have to renounce his US citizenship to live in Singapore after all, because 7-11 mashed potato & gravy Slurpees are now available in the USA.
This, people, truly is the best of all possible worlds.
You put your cup (mouth?) under the spigot, press the "mashed potatoes" button and out they come. Then hit the "gravy" button and mix it right in.
These little miracles have been available in Singapore since 2009, which makes me wonder how the USA has any citizens left at all.

Germany: Sorry, I gave at the State
The US is the number 1 most charitable nation in the world.
Germans like to see themselves as "giving," but of course when it comes to voluntary giving they actually suck. In fact, most of Europe "gives" by taking money from people at gunpoint. That would be "stealing," friends.
Germany is #26.
Of course, I suppose Germany could claim they gave at the Euro. Still, strong evidence that Tocqueville was right, and state action crowds out private initiative and personal moral responsibility. So, for all my German friends who jabber about how generous Germans are and how stingy American are... how do you like us now?
