This is either another verbal casualty of the WOT, or some Philippine Air Force PAO who wanted to get publicity for the effort, who had no idea of the English transliteration of the acronym. For the record, this insurgency has been going on literally for hundreds of years. The Moros fought the Spanish, the Americans, the Japanese, the Americans again, and the independent Filipino government. During the Cold war, they were called simply the Moro Libertarian Front (MLF)
