We didn't reach it.
Revised numbers show GDP growth in the fourth quarter of 2011 was 4.1%, which fell to 2% in the first quarter of this year. Meanwhile the initial estimate of second quarter 2012 growth is 1.5%.
At least the rate of decline is slowing!
Even though I have eyes to see and ears to hear exactly how crappy a candidate Mittens is, it's hard for me to think Obama can win with an economy this bad.

Am I then to assume you've laid a wager on Intrade?

Obama is, and probably will continue to define the issues -- by his record, and his continuing efforts to dodge his record. Romney is playing his hand correctly by allowing the race to play out this way. I don't think I know who he is, and don't think I'm likely to learn much more before the election. That doesn't make him a "crappy" candidate, although I do think he is somewhat of a "stealth" candidate.
It's possible that he actually believes in States rights and will govern accordingly -- it's possible he has the political skills to translate his experience pruning and restructuring bankrupt enterprises to government. It's possible.
It's also the only safe bet I can see.
