It is hard to know how to react to this.
First of all, it's a waste of perfectly good bacon.
Second, it is, as my Duke colleague D. Schanzer notes, "intolerance." (He also says that intolerance is in "plentiful abundance," which must be different from regular abundance, I guess...)
I can see that someone might think it was funny (in a not very funny, drunk redneck yelling "FREE BIRD!!!!" kind of way). But I can also see, and moreso, how an already beleaguered minority would perceive this as a threat. If you want to have ham on Easter, to show you are not Muslim (or Jewish), then go for it. But why do you have to go defile someone else's church?
The KKK does not represent mainstream Christianity. Al Qaeda does not represent mainstream Islam. Lay off other peoples' churches.

What strikes me as the most disturbing aspect of this is that people who decided Muslims are the enemy are adopting the tactics of Muslims extremists. They will get to decide where someone can worship, how they can worship and what they can worship - and since the law doesn't give them this power they will use public coercion and intimidation. So thanks to these nut jobs the Constitution is under threat by them as well as religious extremism. I guess the terrorists did win after all.
Also, if they are so concerned about religion's effect on the American way, why not protest the fact that all religious groups, churches, etc. get a federal tax break. If they want this country to survive, we shouldn't be subsidizing anyone's religion.
Unfortunately, logic and reasoning are not high on these people's list. If they were this world would be a completely different place.
The significance of these pork pranks is being overblown. The culprits aren't issuing fatwas, they're just being offensive.
However, I would like recommend/request an eye for eye retaliation from the Muslims towards Christianity. Perhaps upside-down crosses made from grapejuice and crackers for a start, but hopefully something more creative. I want to see a no-holds-barred prank war between Muslims and Christians... something that calls attention to all the absurd things these folks believe.
