Thanks for posting this - Ms. Dudley's point about companies asking for regulations to promote certain products is excellent, and illustrates the concept beautifully - so even I can uderstand it. I immediately recall the chapter about child carseats vs alternate types of safety restraints in Freakonomics. Could it be that the unintended consequences of regulations are not so unintended?
