Profit: I don't think that word means what you think it means.
Here is what LvM thought it meant. Pretty interesting.
But now kids think it's a bad word, a bad thing, and that making profits makes you a bad person.
Jesus said it best: Profits are not without honor, but in your own country, and among your own kin, and in your own house, Or something like that.

I am also puzzled by hostility to the idea of profit. Profit is just return on investment for equityholders. Scrap profit, and we need either angel investors or bondholders (who will ask for interest payments and who will take over the business if things head south).
Being against profit is no more logical than being against wages. Should everybody work as a volunteer? I suppose it works well enough in Star Trek.
Opposing ''excessive profit'' is better: now you have a logical position, although it is not defined yet. To define it, you need to think about risk, and well, now you're in trouble, 'cuz it ain't easy.
