Marines have bled and died so this bozo can be free to make fun of them. Freedom isn't free, it carries a dear price.

Am I the only one who is sick of hearing "freedom isn't free?" I only ever hear this tired idiom from people who can't really make arguments about anything...

I listened to the Lehrer song again, and I GUESS you can read it as mocking Marines.

But to me it is far more plausible to say he is mocking political leaders.

So, props to the brave Marines. But I have little use for the decision to send more Marines to die for no reason.

Sorry to hear that one of your readers thinks that freedom is trite and uninteresting. They apparently take theirs for granted and not worth sacrificing for.

Hey "Anon," do you know what an idiom is? Also, I think freedom is the most precious thing we have (hardly "trite and uninteresting") ...Perhaps this is why I oppose wars that represent one of the greatest threats to the freedom you and I share...

Is it possible to support marines, yet question the mission chosen for them by politicians?
