She's Beating Them Off With a Stick

Ms. O'Donnell is having to face up to her past. This may have been tongue in cheek (I'm trying to be careful, here), but ... nice video.

I watched, I watched it again, I still don't believe it. The ending... wow.

Yeah. it's very difficult to say anything in even slightly good taste about that last line... and yet, one wants to emphasize it and draw attention to it to show precisely how crazy this view is.

I don't get it. How is this 'crazy?' How is her view from the early 90's that different from the Catholic view of masturbation, which I believe says that masturbation is sinful?

Lucky for her, 13-17 year old boys can't vote. They would picket and denounce any anti-masturbation platform like there's no tomorrow. Hey-hey Ho-Ho Masturbation Cannot Go Hey-Hey Ho-Ho

I think a haiku is in order:

Hormones suppressed
The young buck must adventure;
But what good am I?

aub : Nothing in Catholic doctrine about the intrinsically disordered moral character of masturbation entails the decidedly odd view that any teenage boy who has developed onanistic habits will lose interest in having sex with actual girls. What she says about lust and adultery bears a recognizable relationship to Catholic doctrine. The closing line does not.

I think the closing line must also mean that she's a young-earth creationist, because if you believe that our species has survived for millions of years, you can't believe that masturbation eliminates interest in sex with other people. In fact, I think it means she's a *very* young-earth creationist: she must think that humanity is in its very first generation.

@ Jacob: Agreed. I have a friend and he masturbated one time (so he told me). He then still enjoyed having sex with his wife (again, so he told me). I cannot comment on whether she enjoyed it or not.

As for her young-earth creationism, maybe she believes humans just recently started discovering masturbation and as this terror spreads, we will slowly die off.

Granted, we've all said really dumb stuff in our youth...except for maybe Angus.

It is not the stupidest thing I have ever heard, although it is in the top 10.

PS....Is it wrong that I almost starting masturbating while watching this video?

Got it. Thanks, Jacob.

I guess I lean a little more towards tolerance of different cultural viewpoints. Being agnostic, I find most of religion and spirituality to be illogical and have trouble defining one viewpoint as crossing the line crazy.

But if it helps some people find comfort and interpret the world around them, let them have at it. After all, being an ardent believer in either creationism or evolution won't affect the lives of most people.

This kind of shit just rubs me the wrong way.

Gee, that's it? As Lunacy From Teenagers goes, this stuff is pretty mild. She's obviously very young in that clip. If she doesn't compound the problem in trying to escape it, it will not hurt her much in this election.

"I was in my twenties and very excited and passionate about my newfound faith. But I can assure you, my faith has matured and when I go to Washington, D.C. it’ll be the Constitution on which I base all of my decisions, not my personal beliefs,” she explained Thursday to cheers.

Her image consultants really blew it on this one. Looks like she needs to take matters into her own hands.

She's really got a mess on her hands now.

Its sad that this will define her, when there are so many other crazy things she's said. Not to mention the very real possibility that she has trampled Federal election law by using campaign contributions to pay for personal expenses.

Still, gotta give her credit. She came back swinging after getting so totally, completely demolished in the 2008 election.
