1st Year Grad Student Wins Nobel In Econ!

First year grad student wins Nobel in Economics!

Made "several excellent presentations in class," and gave other students hope that they might understand the complex math in journal articles. (They don't yet understand it, but the NP winner gave them hope that they might, by telling them, "Yes, you can!")

(Greg M thought of it first. Darn)

According to this site http://www.prio.no/About/PeacePrize/PRIO-Directors-Speculations-2009/ possible nominees also included Fidel Castro, Hugo Chavez, Leonard Peltier, Pete Seeger, and the UN Food and Agriculture Organization.

while you are funny as usual, you are unusually lacking introspection. this is not a prize he sought, campaigned for, made a painfully boring movie to get his name out, or invaded several countries to make the world safe for democracy.

he has significantly changed the direction of us foreign policy in less than a year (which is not easy to do when you inherent a duo of un-winnable wars). besides, the committee makes strange choices all the time, it must be from exposure to all that modern architecture.

anonyman: if you are saying that this is a better choice for the Peace Prize than Henry Kissinger, Jimmy Carter, or Al Gore, then I agree with you.

But it is ONLY better than those.
