David Brooks makes some nice points. Perhaps he isn't a sniveling Obama toady after all.
In fact, reading it again, that is FANTASTIC article. A hard point to get across, but Mr. Brooks does it very well.
Even if he does look just like Brian Roberts.

Boy, those NYT comments boards are depressing - so many intelligent & well-read people who can look straight at a piece of wisdom & completely miss it.
Imagine how these people would react if you suggested that a group of the smartest people you could find was going to determine the best distribution of species in Yellowstone, including a few invasive species for good measure. Yet, when you propose the same thing for the economy, they say, "Well, he is getting the SMARTEST people for the job."
ZOMG! Separated at birth indeed.
Evidently the wolves who raised Roberts had better fashion sense than the wolves who raised Brooks. Pink shirt? Fuchsia tie? ZOMG!
Brook's piece didn't read so well for me. It's like he's peddling soft paternalism, which I find revolting. But I suppose in this day and age of sniviling bitches who feed at the trough and seemingly want more, soft paternalism is the best we can hope for.
Sorry, he really doesn't look anything at all like Brian Roberts.
he's an important figure, and I think we can't avoid his points because he's so smart! In the other hand, his politics are very interpretative and most people can note it, specially at the polls. 23jj
