I revere Washington for his decision to walk away from Power -- twice!
But the sentence that Boaz calls out struck me a different way. Washington: "All possess alike liberty of conscience and immunities of citizenship". Would that it were. Today's USA has three major classes: 1. Unfireable politicians, bureaucrats, and police. 2. Ordinary citizens, partly enslaved by onerous taxation. 3. People who are "illegal" for some passive condition, such as lack of official permission to travel.
Radley Balko dose excellent reporting on the divide between class 1 and class 2.
